Larry Joe Brashears, 76, of Liberty died Thursday evening, March 7, 2019, at Whitewater Commons Senior Living Center in Liberty.

Larry was born in Connersville July 8, 1942 to William and Ruth J. Terry Brashears and graduated from Short High School in Liberty in 1963. Larry retired from Dressser-Roots, Connersville, in 1999 after over twenty-five year of employment. He enjoyed sports, playing golf, watching NASCAR, especially Mark Martin, and cheering for the Indiana Hoosiers basketball team.

Larry is survived by his wife of 26 years, the former Theresa L. Wooley whom he married May 2, 1992 at St. Bridget’s Church in Liberty; his children: Tammy Banks and her husband Ben of Centerville, Greg Brashears and his significant other, Tara Gray of Fountain City; Michelle R. Brashears of Williamsburg; his grandchildren: Jeremy Hicks, Jerrad Hicks, Wallace Banks, Dustin Brashears, Evan Brashears, Austin McClurg and Amber Stubblefield; four great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Larry is preceded into death by his brothers: Richard and William Brashears; and his step-mother: Virginia Brashears.

Memorial services will be conducted by Pastor Don Roberts at 7 p.m. Monday, March 11, 2019, at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Fosdick Chapel, Liberty, following cremation.
