Obituary of Robert "Bob" F Wells
Liberty resident Robert “Bob” F. Wells, 82, died Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at Reid Health in Richmond. Bob was born in Letcher County, Kentucky on May 23, 1940 to Arthur and Polly V. Cornett Wells. He married the former Brenda Roark on August 12, 1975. They moved to Hamilton, Ohio and in 2000, they had a home built in Oxford. Together Bob and Brenda spent thirty-four years prior to her death in 2009. He later moved to Union County to live with his daughter. Bob was employed as a machine operator and welder for Hamilton Caster until his retirement in 2007. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, frog gigging, coon and deer hunting. In his spare time, Bob restored cars, motorcycles, dirt bikes, remodeled houses and built go-kart frames. Every fall he and Brenda would vacation to The Smokey Mountains, and in the summer, they made their way to Florida. He appreciated delicious food, and was an excellent cook. Bob will be missed by his family and friends. Bob is survived by his children and their spouses: Tammy and Joe Patterson, Duane and Emma Wells; granddaughter: Chasity and Mark Hunt; great-grandchildren: Damien, Brianna, Bella; several nieces and nephews; many friends. In addition to his loving wife, Bob is preceded in death by his parents; bothers: Leroy, Luther, Coolie, Johnnie, Melvin, and Billy; sisters: Helena, Jeanette “Iva”, and Lavena. At Bob’s request, private services will be conducted at the convenience of his family. Showalter Blackwell Long, Fosdick Chapel, Liberty has been entrusted with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Liberty Acres United Rescue Animal Sanctuary, 3546 E Mitchell Rd, Liberty, Indiana 47353, in Bob’s honor.
