Married to Anthony ("JR") DeVite of Edinburg, PA, and daughter of Roy Raymond Clark and Bessie V. (Hammaker) Clark of New Castle, PA. She was one of nine children.
Arlene is survived by 2 children, Edward A. (Charmaine) DeVite of Liberty, MO, and Diana (Dee) (Frank, Jr. deceased) Tavern of Baden, PA.
She also leaves behind 2 sisters, Ella May (George, deceased) Simmons and Shirley (Cookie) (Edward W. Sr, deceased) DeVite of Edinburg, PA.
Arlene was the proud part of 5 generations which she started; having 4 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great grandchildren. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins, and her special canning buddy, Lisa Malutic.
Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Bessie; her husband, Anthony; and her brothers, Raymond Clark of West Pittsburgh, Ralph Clark and Samuel Clark of Edinburg, PA, and Richard Clark of New Castle, PA; and her sisters, Mary Barber of New Castle, PA, and Charlotte Blake of West Pittsburgh, PA.
Arlene was a member of St. James the Apostle in New Bedford, PA, where she was involved in many of their activities and events. She was also active with the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts in Hillsville, PA. She enjoyed bowling at Parkstown Lanes, having all her family over on Sundays for our famous baseball games, and company (announced or not). The most memorable one was the gathering (unexpected) of about 80 friends and family which ended up in a parade of everyone around the property. There was always food for all, laughter, and love.
Arlene was a fantastic mother and homemaker. She took pride in her clean home and her cooking. You always could stop in and there would be food and love for everyone.
A Celebration of Life will be held later this year for her.
