Billie was born on August 15, 1930, in Kansas City, MO, and spent most of her childhood in the Ozarks with her grandmother, Sarah Jane Green. Billie married Roy Dittemore, in 1955. The couple had two children, Rick and Leah Dittemore. She entered the workforce in the 70s, and after earning her nursing certificate, remained in that field until retiring in the 90s. Billie had a love of baking; there was hardly a time when there weren’t fresh cookies or cakes sitting on her table. She was a kind soul, accepting of everybody, and always had a wild story to tell. When she wasn’t caring for stray dogs, she could be found in her garden, or in her easy chair watching a movie. She was dedicated to her family and held a special place in her heart for her grandchildren. She was loved by all.
She is preceded in death by her husband Roy, son Rick, and brother Jerry.
Billie is survived by her daughter, Leah, her sister Carol, five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and extended family.
Visitation is scheduled for 3:00 on October 3, 2025 at Church-Archer-Pasley Funeral Home, 119 East Franklin St. Liberty, MO 64068. Memorial service to follow at 4:30. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Billie’s life.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to your local animal shelter or humane society.
The family would like to thank Lakewood Long Term Care Center for helping Billie manage the toughest final years of her life, and KC Hospice for their dedication to her end-of-life care. Thanks to Rodnina Aguilar and her team at Newcomer's for helping the family celebrate Billie’s life.
