It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Calvin Leroy Cross, 61, of Liberty, MO, who left us on October 7, 2025. A memorial visitation will be held on Monday, November 10, 2025 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Church Archer Pasley Funeral Home, 119 East Franklin Street, Liberty, MO 64068. His ashes will be buried with his parents, Bill and Lula, in Terrace Park Cemetery on November 11 at 10 a.m.
Born on May 6, 1964, in Kansas City, Missouri, Calvin was the cherished son of Bill J. and Lula M. (Iberg) Cross. He grew up in Kansas City, graduating from Oak Park Senior High School in 1982. For 12 years, he dedicated himself to his work as a stocker for JC Penney at Metro North Mall. Since 1995, Calvin had been a ward of the court of Clay County, receiving care from the Clay County Public Administrator.
A true enthusiast, Calvin's passions were as vibrant as the era he loved. He found joy in everything Elvis, James Dean, and Chubby Checker. His father instilled in him a deep appreciation for the 1950s and Chevrolet cars, turning Calvin into a walking encyclopedia of knowledge about classic Chevys. He cherished attending swap meets, where he formed lasting friendships within that vibrant community. His love for older movies, especially wild west classics starring John Wayne, reflected his fondness for simpler times.
Calvin was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Lula; his maternal grandparents, John and Ethal Iberg; and his paternal grandparents, Willard and Vera Cross.
He is survived by his brother, Clint Cross, and his partner Rex Wood of Langley, OK; his niece, Aimee Lampton (Doug) Adams of Longmont, CO; and numerous cousins in the Kansas City and Lake of the Ozarks area, along with a wealth of friends who cherished his spirit.
Calvin's light will be missed, but his memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
