My memory of Calvin goes all the way back to the softball team at Fayette H.S.  I moved to New York and later to Florida but we got together several times at class reunions.  He and Doris did most of the planning and hard work related to those events.  We will certainly miss him.

I followed Calvin as District Conservationist in Clay County.  He was always willing to share his knowledge and experience. One very intelligent soil conservationist.  I will miss him.

I worked with Calvin at U.S.D.A. Natural Resources Conservation Service.  He is remembered as a gentleman and true professional.  I send my deepest sympathy.                                  Paula Price

Calvin and I worked together during the mid '70s in Clay county and appreciate all the things Calvin shared and taught me. He was a very good friend and always had a smile,a chuckle, and a couple of stories to tell.  I will miss him and sincerely honor the time that we shared.

Dear Doris and Family,
Sally and I saw the notice of Calvin's passing in the KC Star.  It caused us to reminisce about the memories we have of the Phillips family.  We remember the neighbors of Lake Road and the children that were there growing up together.  We always appreciated knowing you and your family.  You and your family will be in our thoughts and prayers in the days ahead.

Calvin and I were good friends for many years.  We worked together on many projects.  I always respected his honesty, knowledge, professionalism, kindness and always respectful to others.  He was one-of-a-kind. I shall miss him.
