Clyde “Woody” E. Woodson, Jr., 73, of Gladstone, MO, passed away April 25, 2020. Private family services were held May 1, 2020. A Celebration of Woody’s Life will be held from 9:00am-noon, Saturday, June 6th at the Church Archer Pasley Funeral Home. A Memorial Car Show and All-You-Can-Eat Pancake Feed will be held during this period outside the funeral home. Military honors will be presented at 9:30am.
Woody was born June 2, 1946 in Los Angeles, CA to Clyde and Laverne Woodson. He served in the US Navy from 64-68 and the Reserves until 1970. Woody served three tours during the Vietnam War on the USS Ranger as an Aviation Ordnanceman. He married the love of his life, Vicky McGinnis on November 7, 1969. They raised two children in the Glenaire community and he worked as a switchman for Missouri Pacific, later Union Pacific. Woody retired after 34 years with the railroad. He was a hot-rodder who built four vehicles and enjoyed helping others with theirs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Laverne; and his brothers, Harley and Charlie Woodson.
Woody is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Vicky Woodson; his children, Buffy Tomlin (William), and Troy Woodson; his grandchildren, Connor, Keely, Kinsey, Austin, and Haley; and other relatives and friends.
