

Dale Lee Hoy, known as "Papa", passed away on September 8, 2024, at the age of 70 in Kearney, MO. Born on January 21, 1954, Dale grew up in Liberty, MO, where he graduated from Liberty High School in 1972.
Dale dedicated his career to the trucking industry, where his expertise ranged from driving, to managing the dock, to dispatching. No one needed a GPS when Dale was around!
Dale was a huge fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and the Royals. In his younger years, you would find Dale on the softball field or at the bowling alley. He loved watching westerns, specifically John Wayne movies. Dale cherished moments spent fishing, playing cards, and enjoying a good beer surrounded by his loved ones.
Dale is survived by his wife, Leigh (Shifflett) Hoy; daughters, DeAnna Hoy (Ray Wilkes) and Jennifer (Bryan) Van Emmerik; son, Clint (Hannah) Hoy; brothers, Steve (Kay) Hoy, Phil Hoy, and Scott Hoy; and his eight grandchildren, Ryleigh Van Emmerik, Rhider Hoy, Josie Wilkes, Elind Hoy, Gatlynn Hoy, Bram Van Emmerik, Holland Hoy, and Knoxon Hoy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Edward (Bud) Hoy, paternal grandparents Martha and James R. Hoy, and maternal grandparents Floyd and Betty Darling.
A Celebration of Life will be held on September 20th, 2024, at the Church-Archer-Pasley Funeral Home in Liberty, MO, from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Dale's life and legacy will be honored in this gathering of family and friends, reflecting on a life well-lived and dearly missed.
