In her teens, Denise participated in track and field events in the Special Olympics. She was always a sweet kid, and her Grandpa Harper affectionately called her “Queenie”. Her family remembers the way their dear “Neesie” squealed when given cash. She loved being with her family and having great laughs.
Denise worked packing boxes for Hallmark Cards and retired from there in 2018.
Denise enjoyed listening to music. Some of her favorites included – Kenny Rogers, Elvis, and Michael Jackson. She also adored animals, especially dogs and cats.
Denise was preceded in death by her grandparents E.B. and Winnie Harper; E.B. and Kathryn Johnson; and her dear friend Michelle Rose.
She is survived by her parents; siblings, Dawn Samples, Kansas City, Mo.; Donald Harper, Jr. (Sherry), Kansas City, Mo.; David Harper (JoAnn), Kansas City, Mo.; Danielle Walters (Paul), Lathrop, Mo.; and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 1 p.m. at Church-Archer-Pasley Funeral Home, 119 E. Franklin, right off Liberty Square.
