Donald Lee Hite Sr.

Donald L Hite Sr. Age 79. Liberty, MO went to be with the Lord on January 4, 2015. He was born on June 15, 1935 in St. Joseph, MO. He was a proud veteran of the US Army’s 187th Airborne Rakkasans and served in the Korean War. He was a co-founder of the Ripcord Chapter of the Rakkasans. He retired from TWA where he was a mechanic for 25 years. He was a generous and loving man who touched the lives of many people. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. There will be a deep void in all our lives, but his legacy shall never die. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 61 years, Lena, his four children Donald Hite Jr. and his wife Virginia of Kingsville, MO, Michael Hite and his wife Elizabeth of Liberty, MO, Carolyn Hite of Independence, MO and Lisa Winfrey and her husband Cecil of Liberty, MO. His brother Everett Hite of Savannah, MO and his sister Marie Beck of Cottonwood, AZ. He leaves behind 13 grandchildren; Lee and Jill Hite, Sarah and Don Ramos, Kristy Winfrey, Kelly and Dan Schneikart, Scott and Hillary Winfrey, Thomas and Sheena Hite, and David Hite and Sierra Gronskei and 19 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to St James Catholic Church, 309 South Stewart Road, Liberty, MO 64068 Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 7 at Church-Archer-Pasley Funeral Home. The rosary will be prayed at 7:45 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday at St. James Catholic Church. Burial will follow at New Fairview Cemetery, Liberty, MO.
