

Douglas Ray Frazee, 89, of Liberty, MO, passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2014, at his home. A Celebration Of Life will take place on Saturday, December 20, 2014, at the Liberty United Methodist Church in Liberty, MO, with military rites and a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial gifts to Liberty United Methodist Church. Born February 26, 1925 in Wellington, MO, Douglas was the son of the late Stephen A. and Lula W. (Bierbaum) Frazee. He was a 1943 graduate of Wellington High School and attended Texas A&M University. As a U.S. Army WWII Veteran, he served in the 104th Infantry Division, 413th Infantry Regiment, 1st Battalion, Company A in France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for meritorious service. Upon discharge, Douglas moved to Marshall, MO to work as a film projectionist and attend the Marshall, MO Flying School. He moved to Gravois Mills, MO and owned the Rail Fence restaurant. On October 19, 1968, he married Dorothy McCubbin who preceded him in death in July 1999. During their marriage they lived in Gravois Mills, Marshall, Rocky Mount and Liberty, MO. He was a marine engineer on the Sioux City and New Orleans Barge Lines for 22 years. He then worked as a Wal-Mart People Greeter for 26 years at Osage Beach and Liberty until his retirement in 2012. Douglas was a member of the Liberty United Methodist Church, the Liberty Masonic Lodge #31 and the Timberwolves Infantry Division Association. He was also a past member of the Gravois Mills Lions Club and served as Chairman of the Eldon United Methodist Church Board of Trustees. Douglas was gifted with an understanding of all things mechanical. He was an avid photographer, outdoorsman and reader of books about nature, railroads, antique steam engines and history. He is survived by one brother, Skip (Jackie Marin) Frazee of Mesquite, TX; his companion, Trudy Ronne of Kansas City, MO; sister-in-law Mary Beth Frazee of Marshall, MO; stepsons Renfro (Nancy) McCubbin, Jr. of Liberty, MO and Kim (Nadja) McCubbin of Gallatin, MO; nine nieces and nephews; two step-grandchildren and numerous great nieces and nephews and step-great grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one brother, Norman Frazee; one sister, Judith Frazee; and one niece, Lisa Frazee.
