Elaine Gooch

Stella Elaine Gooch, age 86, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2026. Born on December 7, 1939, Elaine was preceded in death by her loving parents Stella Lorraine (Shoaf) Hawn and Vincent Jerome Hawn, and her brother Jerald.

She graduated from East High School in 1957, and while raising her children, went on to build a long and respected career in administrative roles at TWA, Valspar, Butler Manufacturing and Payless Cashways.

Elaine spent many years playing the piano and organ for her church. Her creativity extended far beyond the keyboard—she was exceptionally skilled in sewing, needlework, quilting, painting, canning, and cooking.

Elaine is survived by her loving husband, Gary, who was her steadfast companion through every season of life. She leaves behind her children, Steve (Fonda), Gail (Gordon), Lisa (Lew), Terri (Rick), and David. She is also survived by her sister, Vickie; her sister in law, Jo; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Elaine will be missed and lovingly remembered.
