Mrs. Fern Marie Porter

Fern Marie Porter, 88, passed away at her home in Liberty, MO on December 7, 2022. Services for Fern will be held at Church Archer Pasley Funeral Home, 119 East Franklin Street, Liberty, Missouri, on December 14, 2022. Visitation will be from 10am-11am, followed by a funeral service at 11am, and burial at New Hope Cemetery in Liberty, MO at noon.

Fern was born on September 14, 1934 in Plattsburg, MO to Lloyd and Evalene Seevers. She graduated from Smithville High School in 1952, where she was editor of the newspaper and a member of the Glee Club.

She married George Lewis Porter on April 26, 1952 and moved to Liberty. Fern worked as an accountant for the Lucille Davis Dress Shop and Liberty City Hall. She enjoyed selling Avon for seven years, and was a member of the Liberty Christian Church. She had a passion for music, especially country, and loved to dance.

In addition to her parents, Fern was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis; her brother, Earl Seevers; and her daughter, Susan.

Fern is survived by her son and daughter in law, Bryan and Melissa Porter of Hammond, LA; her daughter and son in law, Nancy and Vince Gulotta Jr. of Smithville, MO; her sister, Hallie Robinson of Kansas City; her granddaughter, Jordan Gulotta, of Smithville, MO; her step-granddaughter, Lily Poole, of Hammond, LA; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends.
