Jerry Marshall “Pinky” Pinkston, longtime Liberty resident, passed away April 18, 2021 at home with his wife Ursula by his side. Memorial services with Military Honors will be 2:00pm, Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Church Archer Pasley Funeral Home, 119 E. Franklin St., Liberty, MO 64068.

Jerry or “Pinky” as he was known to many of his friends, was born September 27, 1941 in Dighton, KS to LaVern and Elda Pinkston. He grew up in Atchison, KS and graduated from Midway High School. Pinky served in the National Guard for nine years. He was self-taught and worked as a welder for many years, later he worked for Kenworth on their machinery, he was a member of the Carpenters Union, and he retired as a Control Officer for the Clay County Jail. Pinky was a welder, mechanic, farmer, and was a jack of all trades. He met the love of his life, Ursula, in 2003 and they married on October 23, 2016.

Pinky was preceded in death by his parents, LaVern and Elda Pinkston.

He is survived by his wife, Ursula Pinkston; his children from a previous marriage, Catherine Bearden, and Pearl Chamberlin; several grandchildren; his brother, Max Pinkston his wife Judy; as well as several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

I'm so very sorry. I enjoyed getting to know Jerry as an adult, but have known him since I was 2 years old. He was always so kind to me. And he was a very loving man. Love to Ursala and family always. ❤
