John Francis "Lefty" Lesnefsky, Jr., 60, of Liberty, Missouri passed away with his wife and children by his side on April 23, 2025, after a brave battle with cancer. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Belvoir Winery, 1325 Odd Fellows Road, Liberty, Missouri 64068, 816-200-1811.
John was born in Peckville, PA on April 23, 1965, to John Sr. and Margaret (Wharton) Lesnefsky. He graduated from Piscataway High School in 1983, and married his high school sweetheart, Lori Spock, in 1986. Together they had two children James and Christopher.
John--or "Lefty," as his coworkers called him--worked at Ford Motor Company for over 30 years. He began his career in 1994 at the Edison, New Jersey Ford Assembly Plant, then transferred to the Kansas City Assembly Plant in 2002. There he worked as a General and Electrical Repairman, and was a proud member of the UAW Local 249 union.
John was a devoted Jets and Mets fan, and fulfilled two of his biggest sports dreams with his sons by his side: he got to attend the 2015 World Series, as well as the 2023 Pro-Football Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. John himself was active in bowling and golf, and achieved a hole-in-one in 2010. He also enjoyed trout fishing and going on float trips with his friends on the Niangua River, near his second home in Bennett Springs, MO, where he, Lori, and their sons spent their time relaxing and making memories.
John is preceded in death by his mother, Margaret; and his siblings, Edward, Patricia, and Judy.
John is survived by his wife of 38 beautiful years, Lori, of Liberty, MO; his sons, James of Phillipsburg, NJ and Christopher of Kansas City, MO; his father, John (Patricia) Lesnefsky, Sr. of Seaford, DE; his in-laws, Anne & Ron Hupp of Piscataway, NJ, Jack & Kathy Kociolek of Woodbridge, NJ, and Amy Spock of North Plainfield, NJ; his sister, Lori Mazur of Lewes, DE; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, coworkers, and loved ones.
