June 13, 1923 – February 2, 2019
Kate Robles, 95, of Saint Augustine, Florida, passed away Saturday, February 2, 2019 at North Kansas City Hospital. Funeral Services will be 10:00 am Tuesday, February 5th at Saint James Catholic Church in Liberty, Missouri. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Friends may call from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday, at the Church-Archer-Pasley Funeral Home, where her Rosary Service will start at 6:00 pm.
Kate was born a First Generation American on June 13, 1923 in Brooklyn, New York to Frank and Stella (Kazwaska) Falkowski. As 1 of 8 children born to her parents, she was raised in New York, and lived there until 2004, when she moved to California. She remained a California Resident for 11 years, before moving to Michigan, where she resided until 2017, when she moved to Florida. She was a member of Saint Theresa Catholic Church in California, and attended Mass at Saint James whenever she was in Kansas City. Kate started her career as a Seamstress at an early age, eventually working for Buckner’s Bridal in New York, before retiring in 1988. In addition to a Full-Time Seamstress, she was also a Full-Time Homemaker, always keeping her home in order, while raising her 3 children. Kate was a loving wife, mom and grandma who was relentlessly loyal to her family. She preferred indoor activities, including sewing and playing the Slots and Poker machines at the casino. Many will remember her as a thimble collector. Her collection grew whenever friends or family members traveled somewhere new, as they would bring her one from their trip.
Kate was preceded in death by her husband, Charles J. Robles, Sr., when he died in 2011; her parents; 4 brothers, Edward, Joseph, John and Frank; and 4 sisters, Stephanie, Kate, Jean and Victoria; leaving Kate the last member of her family to pass.
She is survived by 3 children, Kathy O’Brien and her husband Walt of Liberty, Missouri, Charles Robles, Jr. of Saint Augustine, Florida, and Steven Robles and his wife Carmela of Saint Joseph, Michigan; 7 grandchildren, Kelly Breier, Michael O’Brien and his wife Alicia; Shannon Stamper and her husband Nick, Jenifer O’Brien, Abigail Robles, Paul Robles and Victoria Robles; and 9 great grandchildren.
