

Kristine Dakota Poitevint, 22, of Liberty, Missouri passed away on December 5, 2022. A memorial service will be held at Church Archer Pasley Funeral Home, 119 W. Franklin St., Liberty, MO on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, from 4p.m. to 8p.m., with a eulogy at 6p.m. Dress is casual, "come as you are," as Kristine would have wanted. Kristine was born on February 21, 2000 in San Diego, California to Angel Moon Huggins and Bennie Allen Poitevint. She was welcomed into the world by her brother Zachary Scott Poitevint and her grandparents, Yolanda and James Nelson, on a rainy night.
Kristine started school in El Cajon, Ca. where she made many friends and loved swimming, singing, dancing, girl scouts, fishing with Dad, and every adventure she could find. She loved school, especially her favorite teacher, Mrs. Plack. Mrs. Plack taught her origami, which she had loved for many years. Kristine was very sad when she had to move and leave her best friends, Chloe, Cheyenne, Anthony, Brianna, Sarah, and all her friends in the Girl Scouts.
She and her family moved to Liberty, Missouri in 2012, where she met lifelong friends Katt, Emma, and Alice. She and her friends loved to sew their own costumes for cosplay and other best friend stuff. Kristine was very creative and talented in art and music. She taught herself how to play the guitar and also the ukulele. She was getting into beat-making.
Kristine graduated from Liberty North High, where she played alto sax in the marching band. She continued her education at Metropolitan Community College of Independence and Maple Woods campus. She majored in art and wanted to become an art teacher.
Kristine started her work career at IHOP. Later she was employed by Taco John's and Panda Express, where she was promoted to shift leader at both. After that, she worked at the Amazon warehouse. Her latest job before her passing was at Savers in Liberty, Missouri, which she loved very much.
Kristine excelled at her jobs and hobbies and loved her friends, and a few boyfriends along the way, the best of them being Tyler, her high school and college sweetheart. Kristine loved all animals and the beauty of nature. She had great foresight, seeing things from more than one perspective and respected others with love.
Kristine was preceded in death by her grandparents, Yolanda Nelson and Richard Huggins; great grandparents, Nita Huggins, Elizabeth "Betty" Nelson, Juanita Carlisle, and Cecil Carlisle; as well as other uncles and cousins.
Kristine is survived by her father and mother, Bennie and Angel Poitevint; her brother, Zachary Poitevint; her grandparents, James Nelson, Myrtle Carlisle, and Eddie Ben Poitevint; her uncles, Marshal Poitevint
and Benny Hudson; her cousin, Seth Twilligear; and many other aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
There is a space in our hearts that only Kristine could fill. We pray God fills our hearts with his peace until we meet her again.
