Linda Kay (Stevenson) Moore, 78, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at Harmony of Avon. Linda was born on March 16, 1947, to Ruby Violet (Budd) and Claude Arthur Stevenson in Liberty, Missouri. She graduated from Liberty High School in 1965 and Southwest Baptist University in 1969. She went on to teach math for her entire career in the North Kansas City School District at Antioch Middle School and Oak Park High School. She married James William Moore on June 16th, 1972, and they had their only son, Travis Andrew Moore, in 1979.
Linda had an adventurous spirit and loved travelling. Whether it was riding a camel in Egypt, ziplining in Costa Rica, or just canoeing the Current River in Missouri, she was always up for fun and adventure (and always already planning her next trip). Fortunately, her husband James worked for Trans World Airlines, catering to all her travel desires!
Linda also had a heart for the Lord and serving others. Whether it was within her lifelong church home at Providence Baptist, or helping with Hillcrest Ministries, Builders for Christ, or the Christmas Store, she was always willing to help and serve others through her passion for Christ.
She was a devoted wife, and a wonderful, loving mother and grandmother. She loved her family fiercely and unconditionally. One of her absolute joys in life was being with and spoiling her grandkids.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband, James, and brother, Jerry; and is survived by her son, Travis (Rebecca); her grandchildren, Natalie, Andrew, Caitlin, and Tabitha; and her brothers, Marvin and Eldon.
A funeral service will be held at Providence Baptist Church, 12206 N. Stark Ave., Kansas City, MO, on Monday, March 2nd, 2026, at 10:30am. Burial will take place in the church's cemetery, and a luncheon will follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made to Providence Baptist Church or The Northland Christmas Store.
