

Lorna Nell Hancock nee Campbell, age 93, passed away October 29, 2016 at Ashton Court Care Center in Liberty, MO. Lorna was born on June 23, 1923 in Sedalia, Missouri. She was the daughter of Verna Norman and Edgar Campbell. She grew up in Sedalia, MO and Kansas City. In Sedalia, she met Ioda Clyde Hancock and they married on June 29, 1943 and they had 56 wonderful years together. During their marriage, they shared many adventures – they moved to the Pacific Northwest during World War II and lived there for several years. They enjoyed travels to Alaska, Canada, the southern United States and the Ozarks.
Lorna worked for the Kansas City Police Department for 22 years; she loved her family, friends and animals. She enjoyed good books, good movies, and good times.
Lorna was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Lorna Gene Hancock; her sister, Ella Mae Tindall Allen, and her husband, Ioda Clyde Hancock.
She is survived by her daughter, Dr. Karan Hancock Gier and son-in-law, Dr. Thomas R. Gier of Anchorage, Alaska; her niece, Carolyn Hancock Dean and family and nephew, Paul E. Hancock and family of Springfield, MO. And great-niece, Patricia Withrow Martin and family of Jamestown, TN.
Visitation will be 10-11 am, Sat. Nov. 5 at Church-Archer-Pasley Funeral Home, 119 E. Franklin St., Liberty, MO 64068 816-781-2000. Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Sat. Nov 5 at Crown Hill Cemetery, Sedalia, MO.
