

Marilyn Erna Winter, 86, of Raymore, Missouri, passed away October 23, 2023 surrounded by family. A visitation will be held from 11:30am-noon, Saturday, October 28th with a Celebration of Marilyn’s Life to follow at noon, all at Nashua Baptist Church, 11408 N Main St, Kansas City, MO 64155.
Marilyn was born December 20, 1936 in York, Nebraska and was the daughter of Erna and Fred Phipps and adopted at birth by her aunt and uncle, Otto and Clara Bereuter. She graduated from Utica High School in 1954. Marilyn married Wendell D. Rosenbaugh on February 14, 1955 and they raised five children, Michael, Linda, Joel, Jeff and Lisa. She later married John B. Winter, Jr. on March 30, 1984.
Marilyn’s love for Jesus was very important to her and she was raised in the Lutheran Church, and later attended Nashua Baptist Church for many years. She was a loving mother and housewife and then worked as a City Clerk for the City of Overland Park, Kansas, where she lived for thirty-five years. Marilyn loved music of all kinds, flowers and gardening, taking care of her yard, watching old movies, and was a major dog lover. She will be remembered as a tender, loving woman who had unconditional love for her family. Marilyn also lived a life of service to God and supported and honored the United States of America.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Clara Bereuter; her brother, Wilmer Bereuter; her sister, Maxine Fuerniss; her former husband, Wendell D. Rosenbaugh; and her great-grandchild, Sophia Pingleton.
Marilyn is survived by her husband, John B. Winter, Jr.; her children, Michael Rosenbaugh (Brenda), Linda Pingleton (Jared), Joel Rosenbaugh (Amber), Jeff Rosenbaugh, and Lisa Johnston (Jeff); her thirteen grandchildren, Cori Retherford (Shawn), Chris Rosenbaugh, Jordan Pingleton (Leah), Joshua Pingleton (Anna), Joel Pingleton (Emily), Joseph Pingleton (Samantha), Katie Rosenbaugh Pitts, Brittany Rosenbaugh, Nikki Rosenbaugh, Kaitlyn Kinney, Ashley Rosenbaugh, Megan Steimel (Walter), and James Johnston (Megan); her twenty-two great-grandchildren, Nate, Lily and Andrew Retherford, Londyn Rosenbaugh, Jonathan, Gabriella, Chloe, Jackson, and Justice Pingleton, Kean and Koen Steimel, Priscilla, Cody and Angel Pitts, Corbin and Mathilda Rosenbaugh, Khloe, Christian, and Nicholas Rosenbaugh, Hunter Kindig-Rosenbaugh and Mason Rosenbaugh, and one on the way, Jett Johnston; as well as John’s four children, grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
