Mary Elizabeth “Beth” Glock, 80, of Liberty, Missouri, passed away on Monday, January 14, 2019 at Liberty Hospital. Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 16th at the Sunset Campus of Liberty United Methodist Church, 1001 Sunset Avenue, Liberty, Missouri. Interment will follow in Glenridge Cemetery. Friends may call from 12:00 p.m. until service time on Wednesday at the church. The family requests that any contributions be made to the Music Ministry at Liberty United Methodist Church.
Beth was born June 12, 1938 in West Plains, Missouri to Rufus and Inez (Welch) Wood. She was raised in Byron, Arkansas, and after graduating from Salem High School in 1956, she attended Bethel College in McKenzie, Tennessee. Beth also lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma and Minnesota before settling down in Liberty, Missouri in 1974.
Known as Granny B or Aunt B to many, Beth loved all of her family and friends. She will be remembered for being thoughtful, loving and a joy to spend time with.
Beth was the Administrative Assistant for the Liberty United Methodist Church for 12 years, before retiring in 2000. She loved traveling with Jack, whether work related or family vacations, to Dauphin Island. She loved watching both college and professional football, was a music lover and avid reader.
She was preceded in death by her soulmate and husband of 43 years, Arthur J. ‘Jack’ Glock, when he passed in 2003.
She is survived by 3 children, Mitch Glock (Deeann), John Glock and Kristen Lentz (Dan, Sr.), all of Liberty, Missouri; 1 brother, William R. Wood; 7 grandchildren, Megan (Andrew), Taylor (Alisha), Jamie (David), John, Jr. (Laura), Logan (Bre), Shannon & Dan, Jr.; 8 great grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends.
