Mary lived a life of love and service that lit a bright light in many places. I knew her as a wonderful Sorority Sister.  She will be long remembered.  May God be with you as you continue life without her physical presence.

I met Mary when she located to to Missouri and joined Beta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.  She was a SPECIAL LADY.  I found her to be wise, smart, loving, strong, dedicated, witty and just a wonderful soror with a heart of service. I am so blessed to have shared time with her.  You have my deepest sympathy as you celebrate her life.

May I add my deepest sympathies to all of the family of Mary Phillips. May you feel God's sustaining love and support surrounding you.

To Mary's Family;
Your Mother, Grandmother, and Sister was a very treasured friend to me. We became acquainted when I worked in the office at First Presbyterian Church in Liberty, and remained friends even after she moved away from the area and I was no longer working at the church. Our love for each other brought much joy to my life. She had an uncanny way of knowing when I had hit a hard time and would call just to say she loved me. How she knew was always the question that opened these chats, it's the universe she would say. I am so grateful to have known her. My deepest regret is not being able to attend her service for a final goodbye and to offer my condolences to each of you in person, but a family funeral at the same time prevents me from attending. However, my thoughts and prayers continue to be with each of you. Mary was a blessing to my life and all those who were touched by her here. May she now rest in joy at home with her God.

I was secretary at Ridgeview Elementary School while Mary was teaching there,  She was a great lady and a great teacher.  We had lunch together occasionally while she was still in Liberty.  Always immaculately dressed and very much a lady.  She will be missed!

I had the pleasure of knowing Mary while a counselor  in the Liberty school district.  I hadn't seen her in years until I started attending Lee's Summit Methodist church where she also attended.  She remembered me and we had a wonderful conversation.  She was truly a remarkable woman who made the world a better place.

Mary was such a special person in my life.  I will miss her calls, our conversations, and her sensible way of looking at things.  Heaven is no doubt a little brighter and a little sweeter with her there.  My condolences to Barry, Brian and the rest of her family. Rest in Peace, my friend. See you on the other side.

Mrs. Phillips was my favorite teacher.  She was amazing! I still remember the shelf of stuffed animals and the reading time she thought was so important.  I haven't seen her in probably 25 years, but have thought about her often.  She will missed my many.

Mrs. Phillips was my all time favorite teacher. I saw her a few times as an adult and I was shocked that she still remembered my name and my families names! She was one amazing woman.  She will be dearly missed

I have had the pleasure of being Mary's Home Health Nurse on several occasions over the past few years.  She always had a smile on her face and never complained.  She was interested in keeping herself as healthy as she could and would always keep such good records of her weight and medications.  Mary was always asking about my family as well and always would tell me to be careful as I left her apartment.  She was a joy to see and I am sorry for your loss.

My sincere condolences to Brian, Berry, Janet and family.  I loved Mary dearly and cherish every conversation we had.  She always left me with words of encouragement and wisdom.  There is great consolation in knowing she is now an angel in heaven.  Blessings and Love

I grew up knowing Mrs. Phillips at First Presbyterian Church and had the utmost respect for her. She always had such wise advice and a calming presence that could sooth even the worst of days. She is a beautiful soul and will always be the perfect image of grace and peace in my mind. I remember hearing others saying, "When I grow up I want to be Mary Phillips" and today when I consider what kind of woman I want to be she is an example I hold in high regards. She will be missed on this earth but I know in my heart she is singing with angels today. I am sorry for the loss your family is feeling and I pray for that same calm, grace, and peace to you all now that she exuded in her earthly life.

May was an amazing woman and an  inspiration for all! As a youth I faced some difficult times and made poor decisions, but Mary was the only one from First Pres. Church to share God's grace in many letters during my stay in boarding school.  There is no doubt she made it to the kingdom.  Rest well and God Bless you!

I will miss Mrs. Phillips. She was a wonderful lady who gave so much. My prayers go out to Brian and Barry. God bless you. Sending my love to you.
