Michael D. Landes, 74, of Lexington, Missouri passed away January 20, 2022. A gathering of friends & family to remember Michael Landes' life will be held on Tuesday, February 15th from 11:00-12:00pm at Adkins Auction Center, 13321 E. Business Hwy 13, Lexington, MO.
Michael was born October 1, 1947 to Joe and Margaret (Dahl) Landes. He was an only child and attended Wentworth Military Academy for High School. As a youth, he enjoyed trick riding and performed at Benjamin Stables. He enjoyed horses as long he was able to keep them.
As a young adult, Michael was the singer in a successful Rock n Roll band, Spider and The Crabs and was inducted into the Music Hall of Fame. He also loved Upland Bird hunting and over the years had many different types of hunting dogs.
He was preceded in death by his beloved friend and partner, Christina “Chris” Clampitt. Michael and Chris were together since 2001 and met at an auction, an interest they shared. Over the years together, they managed Michael's rental properties. They also bought several homes they remodeled for re-sale. They always had a project in the works. Another activity that kept them busy was re-purposing items they found at garage sales and weekly auctions. It was always a challenge for them see how well they could do re-selling their special finds. They had many friends among this community and the weekly auctions became the center of their life.
Michael also enjoyed having a yard full of flowers. The first thing he would do in each home they had was to fill the yard with colorful flowers. He seemed able to grow anything he planted.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Arrangements are under the direction of Church Archer Pasley Funeral Home, 816-781-2000.
