

Nancy was born on July 9, 1937 to the late John and Edna (Snider) Peterson from Lathrop, Mo. Nancy is one of ten full siblings and three half siblings. Nancy was married and a new mom at age 17, and a widow 7 short years later at age 24. Being a single mom to her 2 sons, John Norton Carson and William (Billy) Joseph Carson, she worked various jobs until she met the man she would spend the rest of her life with.
Nancy met Marvin Edward Huxtable Jr. at McBowl in Liberty by joining a league with some mutual friends. Nancy and Marvin knew it was forever and was married 3 short months later on February 15, 1969. Joining the family with Marvin is his daughter, Mikki Huxtable, then they would share 2 more children together, Marvin Edward Huxtable, III and Cindi Jo Huxtable, completing their family.
Nancy shared 47 wonderful years with her husband before he passed Nov. 27, 2016. Nancy spent her years loving and raising her kids and grandchildren, and babysitting many others. She retired from Kmart in 2003 and spent her years watching her grandchildren, gardening her flowers, playing dice with whoever wanted to play and baking pumpkin bread and pie for her family. To Nancy everyone was family and to everyone Nancy was simply “Grandma Nancy.”
Nancy is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, John & Lynn Carson of Cumming, GA, William “Billy” & Suzan Carson of Kearny, Mo., Marvin “Eddie” Huxtable & Shelly Blough of Liberty, Mo.; 2 daughters, Cindi Huxtable and Mikki Huxtable, both of Liberty, Mo.; 2 sisters, Gloria Valentine of Texas and Nellie Gaulden (her twin) of Kansas City, Mo; 11 grandkids, 19 great grandkids and 2 great-great grandkids, including many nieces and nephews and many extended family who she considers grandkids.
She is preceded by 2 sisters, Bonnie Irwin and Vivion Joy; and 9 brothers, Edward Peterson, Richard Peterson, Paul Peterson, Vernon Peterson, Wilber “Dean” Peterson, Charles Peterson, James Peterson and Jim Peterson.
Memorial Services for Nancy will be held Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at Church Archer Pasley Funeral Home, 119 E Franklin St. Liberty, Mo 64068. Friends and family may visit from 11am to 1pm with services starting at 1pm and burial ceremony to follow.
