Patricia "Pat" A. Moorefield

Patricia “Pat” Moorefield, 92, of Liberty, Missouri, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2023, excited to join her husband, Bill, in Heaven. Services for Pat will start with visitation at 10:00am, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 11:00am, Saturday, November 18, 2023 at the Liberty United Methodist Church, 1001 Sunset, Liberty, MO. Inurnment will occur at a later date at Greenwood Cemetery in Clay Center, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Liberty United Methodist Church, to support the lunch program at Ridgeview Elementary School.

Pat was born October 15, 1931 in Clay Center, Kansas to John and Ethel Mugler. She graduated from Clay Center High School and attended K-State, for a time, before marrying, William “Bill” Moorefield on November 30, 1952. Pat and Bill were dedicated members of Liberty United Methodist Church, and they often volunteered with programs at the church. She worked for over twenty-seven years as a secretary for the admissions department at William Jewell College. Pat enjoyed traveling and she and Bill went all over the world after their retirement. She was known for her excellent cooking. Pat also volunteered for many years at Liberty Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ethel Mugler; her beloved husband, Bill Moorefield in 2014; and her two sisters, Betty Volkman, and Marilyn Jo Straus.

Pat is survived by her sons, Michael (Donna) Moorefield, Bryan (Jean) Moorefield, and John (Beth) Moorefield; grandchildren, Bryan (Serina) Moorefield, Lance (Hannah) Moorefield, Lindsay Dunsworth, Kyle (Christy) Moorefield, Tina (Travis) Hall, Blaise (Rachel) Cannon, and Rachel Conway; as well as many great grandchildren and great great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
