So many shared memories! We started Sunbeams together. Her Mom taught us kindergarten in their dining room. My Mom taught us first grade in the old 3 story elementary school. We started piano lessons together. Swimming lessons at the old pool. Programs and sports and activities and parties galore. We carpooled to Lethbridge for our first post high school year of education, and joined the cheer squad to support the Kodiak college basketball team. Then to Edmonton, the U of A, and new adventures. The MHS Class of 1965 will celebrate her life, by sharing her stories at every opportunity. I am so grateful that Susan was a part of my life.

The first I knew of the Gallup family was when my son Dustin was in the same mission and became friends with Brad (both being from southern Alberta and loving basketball). Then dear Gean moved into the Diamond Willow Lodge, so knowing her, it was such a special privilege to meet and associate with her dear daughter, Susan when she moved into our ward. She walked with us for a while, relating stories of her youth and was also part of our lunch bunch for a while. She was exactly 8 days younger than myself. She was such a special lady, just wish I could have known her years before!!!!

I love you, my sweet cousin. You are an example of generosity and compassion. You are one of my favorite cooks! You're the epitome of hard work. You're a super mom and a devoted wife. Susan, you are with the angels who have loved and supported you. You are with those who understand the difficult path you have walked because they faced those challenges--generations of your ancestors. Peace. Joy. Love to all your family who stood beside you and cared for you.

I was good friends with Christy growing up in Claresholm and spent many days hanging out at the Gallup house. I always looked up to Susan (I think I always just called her Sister Gallup back then) and thought she was the coolest. I remember one Sunday afternoon, her teaching Christy and I how to make cheese sauce for the vegetables...it's funny that has always stuck with me. :) I have so many fond memories of her...whether it was being at their house, or at a basketball tournament somewhere or a church activity. She was always so calm and caring and did so much for everyone else.
Both Susan and Allan had a huge impact on my younger years and I'm very grateful for them and their guidance and example. I know my parents thought so highly of them and cherished their friendship as well.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of the Gallup family.
From the Howells family.

Happy memories of our earlier years of hiking and fishing in the beautiful Rocky Mountains with Allen and Sue. We laughed a lot, ate a little, sweat a lot on steep switch backs and cried a lot when we caught no fish. Loved being together in the outdoors. Though many years and miles have passed between us, we still treasure our friendship. Until we meet again...love to both of you, Dwight and Diane Karren

Growing up in Magrath was special with Susan as a friend. Bike riding, making pizza, fudge, divinity, school and Mutual activities. What a life! She was always positive and gave of herself unselfishly. Visits from her were very special and I am grateful to have had her influence in my life.

I also sat in the bleachers with Susan for a few seasons. She always packed a good book but she never got much reading in because we talked and talked about her fabulous kids. I cant remember any details but WOWZA those kids were loved and I sure felt loved when I was with her!

We first met Susan and Allen back when our children Scott and Lisa were married. We were impressed right away with her kindness. She was able to put an event together so well - she had two children getting married within weeks of each other, and handled it like the pro that she was.
She had a knack of being sensitive to our other children as well, and was interested in their achievements.
So Susan became the other grandma to four of our precious grandchildren and we have fond memories of getting together at their special events and catching up with each others' lives and watching these grandchildren as they grew and become the individuals that we both appreciated and loved so much.
We're grateful for Susan's life, for her leading by example, her love of family, her life well-lived.

We were sorry to learn of Susan's passing. I had the pleasure of working with Allen at Bert Church High School and I met Susan and enjoyed her company while we watched many games of basketball when our children played for the Chargers. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time. The Bridger Family. (Bob, Linda, Lindsay and Janis)

I met Susan when we became room mates while going to the university of Alberta. My brother lived with a family up stairs. They fell in love and from then on our lives have been close. We have enjoyed many dinners at the Gallup home. Our children grew up friend with many sleep overs at Grandma and Grandpa Gallup’s house. Basket ball was always ever present and we enjoyed watching many games. The years have flown by but our memories remain. I know you are happy and one day we will meet again. Love you lots.

Susan was a dear classmate of mine from grade one to grade 12 in Magrath, Alberta, Canada. She sat in front of me in some classes because we sat in alphabetical order. My maiden last name was Wocknitz. She was always very sweet and kind. May God keep her safe. Many condolences to all her family.

I was saddened to hear of the passing of Susan. Both her and Allan contributed greatly to our community in Airdrie. I can vividly remember basketball at Bert Church High School, with Susan calmly sitting at the end of the bench, efficiently taking stats and keeping Allan organized.
As Relief Society President in the Airdrie Ward, she was a dedicated and compassionate leader, quietly going about the work, and keeping the Bishop (me) apprised of what was happening in the ward. What a faithful servant to the Lord.
Thank you for sharing the tribute video. Brings back happy memories

I am so sorry for your loss. I visit taught Susan for a short while and that was a most rewarding time for me. She was a wonderful, warm woman with lots of love. She was always at her husband's and kid's basketball games trying to keep the less (but really the most) important things organized for him, like where the van keys were and if there was a full tank of gas, and if there were enough snacks for the boys when they were done their games. And she cheered for her kids in the stands with the rest of us. She was the glue that held everything together. And she was a hard worker- took any and all challenges put before her. I remember how thrilled we were when Sister Elaine Jack came to our ward because she was a personal friend of Susans. We all got pictures taken with her and we took a Relief Society ward picture then too. Susan was my husband's Relief Society President at that time and he has always said she was one of the Best Relief Society President's he ever worked with - she had knowledge of everything important happening in the ward with the Sisters and kept him looking 'smart'. She loved her children so much. Do you remember the Christmas that Santa came to your home - made a surprise visit? It was as fun for us as it was for all of you and especially Susan (who was trying to get the cousins to go to bed) and the children (who scattered and went to bed). So, thank-you for living in Airdrie for some of your life and thank-you for sharing your wonderful mother and wife. We love her and know she will be greatly missed here and very much welcomed on the other side. A big hug to Brother Gallup.Rose & John Travers
