Walter Franklin Baucom, 71, of Kansas City, MO, passed away April 15, 2022. Memorial services will be 1:00pm, Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at the First Baptist Church of North Kansas City, 2205 Iron St, North Kansas City, MO 64116. The family requests no flowers be sent, instead, donations be made to the Special Olympics.
Walter was born December 29, 1950 in Kansas City, MO to Olen and Wiladean (Wheeler) Baucom. He was very active in Church, and singing in the choir. His faith was very important to him. Walter loved playing his ukulele and always had a smile on his face. He loved jokes and going out to eat with friends.
Walter enjoyed bowling, puzzles and other activities. He was very social and loved spending time and talking with people. Walter enjoyed going to summer camps when he could and he went the rodeo in Parson, Kansas every summer for many years. He worked for VSI in Liberty for many years and later Easter Seals Midwest for a few years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Olen and Wiladean Baucom; and his sister, Rosemarie.
Walter is survived by his siblings, Floyd, Amy, Debbie, Kathy, Mavis, Christina, Mary, and Renee; his long-time roommate and best friend, Marvin; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, caregivers and friends.
