Obituary of Wanda May Hartman
Wanda May Hartman, age 92, of Shawnee, Kansas passed away on March 15th, 2023. She was born in Kansas City, Missouri on May 24th, 1930 to Mary Charlotte and Ivan Cleve Tinklepaugh. She graduated from Westport High School and spent time working as a Harvey Girl waitress. Wanda was married to Harley Gene Hartman on November 11th, 1948. They had five children: Janet, Terry, Karen, Gary and Barbara. Wanda spent her time taking care of babies at the Second Baptist Church, worked with Meals on Wheels, was a grade school librarian, and helped with 4H. She loved to square dance and read, water skied, and played cards with friends and family. She was big on making dinner for her family and was best known for her delicious desserts. She was a devoted Christian and loved all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Wanda was preceded in death are her parents, Ivan and Charlotte; her husband, Harley Gene; her daughter, Terry King; and her brothers, Richard "Dick", Forrest, Lawrence, Allen and Kenneth Tinklepaugh. Wanda is survived by her brother, Howard Tinklepaugh; her children, Janet, Karen, Gary, and Barbara (Terry); and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, friends, and family. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, March 19th, 2023 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Church Archer Pasley Funeral Home, 119 East Franklin Street, Liberty, Missouri. Refreshments will be provided. Wanda will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery, Liberty, Missouri 64068 at a later date.
