The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 31, 2018, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Loflin Funeral Home, Liberty. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Shiloh United Methodist Church in Liberty, with Pastor Jim Groome officiating; burial will follow the service at Lakeview Memorial Park in Greensboro.
Bobbie was the daughter of the late John Wesley Eatmon and Ali Mae Carter Eatmon, and was also preceded in death by sisters, Kathryn Chrismon and Lucille Dailey.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Phillip Hockett, of Liberty; son, Lawrence Hockett, of Liberty; daughter, Phyllis Hockett, and son-in-law, Kirk McEachern, of Fernandina Beach, FL; three grandchildren, Dewey Hockett, Emalee Hockett, and Sophie McEachern; and life-long friend, Nancy Turner, of Reidsville.
Bobbie was of the graduating class of 1953 from Reidsville High School. Early in her life, Bobbie worked for Jefferson Standard Insurance Company, Pilot Life Insurance Company and Guilford Memorial Park. She retired after 20 years of employment with Blue Bell/Wrangler, now known as VF Corporation. She was also a long-time member of Shiloh United Methodist Church in Liberty.
The family would like to thank special caregivers, Therese Denton and Glenda Hensley, as well as the many caregivers at Moses Cone Hospital and Beacon Place for the love and care they showed Bobbie.
