Buren Earl Jones Jr.

Buren was born on October 30, 1940 to Buren Earl Jones, Sr. and Beatrice Adell Gosnell. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Ruth Kimrey, and brother David Jones.

Buren was married to his sweetheart of 63 years, Lora Ann Graves. He is survived by Lora and their four children, Felicia Yount (John), Alan Jones (Heather), Neal Jones (Shari), Michael Jones (Lindsay), and his sisters Carol Stewart and Ellen Bishop. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Buren loved his Lord and loved to talk about Him. While his adulthood was spent in construction and mechanic work, his greatest joy was always in helping others.

A memorial service and visitation will be held on Sunday, December 28, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 3572 West Greensboro-Chapel Hill Road, Liberty.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Buren to Mountain Top Youth Camp, MTYC 1460 MacKay Lane, Pinnacle, NC 27043 www.mtyc.org; or Mount Jubilee Ministries, P.O. Box 81, Reidsville, NC 27320.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff at Ancora Hospice of Rockingham County and his sitters, America, Christina, and Margaret, for their wonderful care of dad.
