

Calvin was born on April 5, 1927 in Greensboro and is the son of the late Lattie B. and Amanda Lou Alice Brown.
Calvin was preceded in death by his wife Mary; sisters, Mary “Susie” Bowman, Pauline Brown, Minnie Brown and Julia Lucas. Left to cherish his memories are their children; sons, Gerald Brown of Julian and Duane Brown of Summerfield; daughters, Wanda Brown O’Neal, Jerry of Winston-Salem, and Faye Brown Davis of Climax; grandchildren, Amy Davis Picket (Brian), Lyndsey Davis, Nick Davis, John O’Neal (Niki) and Jeremy O’Neal (Alison); Great-Grandchildren, Adalyn, Harris and Katie; nephews, Jimmy Brown, Utah Brown; nieces, Lynnette McIver, Betty Taylor and Jeannette Cox.
A celebration of life service will be held at Loflin Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 11:00 am. Visitation with family and friends will be held at Loflin Funeral Home from 10:00 – 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Gilmore Memorial Park in Julian.
He was a former employee of Motor Bearings. He spent his retirement years caring for his loving wife and farming.
Calvin was an U.S. ARMY veteran having served his country in the Korean War.
Calvin enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and sharing the vegetables of his garden. He was fond of animals and cared for many rescued dogs and cats throughout his life.
