Clarence Ethan Kennedy, 97, of Liberty passed away at home on Saturday, January 9, 2016.
Clarence was a native of Moore County, a WWII veteran who served his country as a Sergeant in the Battery D, 105th Coast Artillery, Anti Aircraft in US Army. He worked in Liberty for many years in the furniture and textile industries and helped many people with their carpentry needs through the years.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 14, at 12:45 p.m. at The Loflin Funeral Home Chapel in Liberty, with Rev. Eugene Dean officiating; burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Mr. Kennedy will lie in repose at Loflin Funeral Home, on Wednesday evening from 5:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
He was the son of the late, Elsie Green Kennedy and Emma Garner Kennedy and was also preceded in death by his wife, Reva Alderman Kennedy and brothers, Norman, Tracy and Valjean Kennedy.
Surviving is his son, Clyde Kennedy of Robbins; daughter, Gail Kennedy Ray of Colfax and grandson, Ashley Kennedy.
