She attended Wingate Junior College in 1939 and continued her education at Woman’s College of UNC- Greensboro in 1941 where she achieved a BS in Home Economics. She then continued her education to include a teaching degree in primary and grammar grades also from UNCG. She was asked to teach at Grays Chapel School and decided to make this community her cherished home. She met Junius Routh at a ball game and their romance led to marriage and 4 children. She is survived by her 4 children: Linda Routh Price (married to Charlie Price), Julie Routh Morgan (Joe Mason), Jill Routh Howard (married to Kirk Hopkins) and John Routh. She was a loving grandmother to her grandchildren: Stacy Price Masters (married to Corey Masters), Erica Jenkins, Jason Price, Seth Routh, Cole Howard, Savannah Routh, Matthew Howard and Patrick Morgan (step-grandson). She is also survived by her precious great-grandchildren: Sayde, Ella and Harper Masters; Rylee and Mason Price.
