Dale was a graduate of Southeast High School, an accomplished mechanic and fixer of all things. He was an avid musician and singer. He loved singing and playing guitar for many years with Southeast Express Bluegrass Band and the Tabernacle Church Choir and Praise Band. He loved his family and spending time with those he loved. He was the best daddy a little girl could ask for. He loved being “Pawie” to his two granddaughters. He and Arleen brought each other a lifetime of joy in their short time together. I am deeply sorrowed that due to my wife's heath issues that I cannot be with all of you at this difficult time. I have known Dale since elementary school and have always admired him. As we all grow older responsibilities of life sometimes get in the way of keeping in touch with people the people that we should. I was fortunate to have been invited to play with the Southeast Express Band for a few years. Dale, Ray, Jimmy, and Joe took me in, accepted me and my odd ways, and taught me much. Much more than the music was the fellowship. The time spent with Dale was some of the best I had spent in years. They all, especially Dale treated me like family. I may not have shown it as well as I should have but those times meant more to me than I can possibly say. After I moved away Dale always kept in touch. When he and his family came to the coast on vacation he always called me to come and share food and fellowship with them, again accepted me as a part of his extended family. There is hardly a week that goes by that I do not think of the times spent with Dale. He was one of the most positive influences in my life and as I write this I cannot stop the tears. The only thing that gives me any comfort at this time is knowing the happiness that Dale was able to experience in the past few years. Talking with him always gave me comfort and he will never be forgotten.

With a very heavy heart,
Al Foglema
