David Lawrence Hargis

The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 30, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Loflin Funeral Home in Liberty. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 1, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at The Loflin Funeral Home Chapel in Liberty with Rev. Marc Sanders officiating; burial will follow the service in Chatham Memorial Park in Siler City.

David was the son of the late Martha Irene Fogleman Hargis and Bunyan Darius Hargis and was also preceded by his wife, Ellon Naylor Hargis, and brother, Clifton Hargis.

He is survived by daughters, Myra Hargis (Charles Hunt), Joy Whitt, and Joan Turner (Jody); sons, Curtis Staley (Rosemary), Tony Staley (Terri), and Dennis Hargis (Rhonda); sister, Julia Apple; brother, Cecil Hargis; grandchildren, Crystal Staley Hall, John Staley, Emily Staley Neal, Travis Staley, Dorie Staley Whitman, Jamie Jordan, Dustin Hayes, Jessica Hayes Foust, Zack Ferguson, Macy Ferguson, Michael Hargis and Stephanie Hargis Braxton and 20 great-grandchildren.
