Donna Smith Shoffner

Donna was a devoted farmer and businesswoman whose life was deeply rooted in hard work, and her love of the farm.

For more than 29 years, Donna dedicated herself to Shoffner Trucking and Shoffner’s Farm where she was a co-owner and hardworking partner. She poured countless hours into building, maintaining, and growing the farm and trucking business, making it not simply a place of work, but a meaningful part of her life.

Donna found some of her greatest joy in the everyday life of the farm. Her truck, affectionately known as “Blue,” and her cows were among her greatest pleasures. She was a true animal lover and took the time to name every cow and lovingly care for them. The farm was where Donna felt at home, and her dedication to it was evident in everything she did.

Donna was a woman who believed in hard work. She was dependable, determined, and never afraid to get her hands dirty. She gave more than 29 years of her life to building and caring for the farm she loved, leaving behind a legacy of perseverance, dedication, and love.

Those who knew Donna will remember her not only for all that she accomplished, but for the passion she brought to the things she loved. Her love for her farm, her animals, and the life she worked so hard to build will remain a lasting part of her legacy.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She was the daughter of the late Floyd Edward Smith and Shirley Apple Smith Toney; and was also preceded in death by her daughter, Sheila Jones McPherson.

Surviving is her business partner, John Franklin “Frankie” Shoffner; grandson, John McPherson; son-in-law, Howard McPherson; step-daughter, Kimberly Hurley (Mark Hurley); step-son, Jonathan Shoffner; 12 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of her life will be held, at the farm, at a later date.
