On Thanksgiving Day our beloved "Dot" went to be with her Lord and Savior after a short illness. Dorothy Daniel Amick was blessed with 94 wonderful years here on Earth. She shared 73 years by her husband’s side, Roland Eugene Amick.
She is survived by her children; Gail Powell, Neal Amick and Denise Southern; grandchildren; Erica Lee Southern Maness (Nick), Tyler Powell (Jen), Caitlin Powell; great-grandchildren; Rosston Maness, Gatlin Maness, Price Powell, John James Powell.
She was one of eight children and is survived by her favorite sister, Nellie Oakley. Dot was born to the late Charlie Cicero and Genie Morris Daniel.
Dot had a deep and abiding faith in God. She was a life-long Methodist and taught Sunday School and served her Church in various roles.
While raising her children she operated a beauty shop out of her home, where she made life long friends while making them beautiful. She shared her mama's love of gardening; cooking and canning vegetables. Dot's door was always open to share her creations.
"In your memories have no grief; let the joy that Dot shared with you remain always and bury your sorrow in doing good deeds."
A visitation will be held to welcome friends and family, on Sunday, November 28th, 2021 from 12:30pm-1:30 pm at Loflin Funeral Home, 212 W. Swannanoa Ave, Liberty, NC. Dot's Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 pm after the visitation and interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made to Randolph Hospice House in Dot's Honor.
Loflin Funeral Home of Liberty is honored to serve the Amick family.
