Douglas Cornell Bowman

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 22 at 11:00 a.m. at Coble’s Lutheran Church; officiated by Rev. Joseph A. Miller. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church, and other times at the family home.

Doug was born on February 23, 1944 in Guilford County. He was a faithful member of Coble’s Lutheran Church for many years and he worked for Marus Marble and Tile in Greensboro. Doug enjoyed gardening and watching things grow. He was an avid NASCAR fan and loved riding and playing with his pet dog, “Cody”. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Doug was the son of the late Pete Daniel Bowman and Mary Whitt Bowman; and was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Edward Albright.

Surviving is his wife, Elaine Kirkman Bowman of Climax; daughter, Teresa Blake (Tim); son, Daryl Bowman (Janet) and three grandchildren; sister, Luola Bowman Albright of Greensboro.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Coble’s Lutheran Church, 5200 Coble Church Road, Julian, North Carolina 27283.
