

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at First United Methodist Church in Liberty. The immediate family will receive family and friends following the service in the fellowship hall and other times at the home of Les Hinshaw.
Mrs. Hinshaw was born March 28, 1922 in Randolph County to the late David Hal and Anna Hackett Millikan. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Charles Howard Hinshaw; sister, Aleese Millikan Kirkman; brother, Hal Worth Millikan; and daughter-in-law, Brenda Hinshaw.
She attended First United Methodist Church in Liberty for most of her adult life and was a charter member of Eastern Star Chapter #66 in Liberty. She retired from First Union National Bank where she was a loan officer. Mrs. Hinshaw was an avid seamstress and quilter, a well-known home cook and was active in Liberty Garden Club. She moved from her long-time home in Liberty to WhiteStone in 2013.
Mrs. Hinshaw is survived by her son, Les Hinshaw of Liberty; daughter, Kay Hinshaw Philipp and her husband, Tom of Boone and daughter, Wanda Millikan Hinshaw and her husband, Lyle Schoenfeldt of Valle Crucis; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. In addition, Evelyn was Aunt and Auntie to many special nieces and nephews.
