

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 29 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church-Kimesville conducted by Rev. Aaron Moss and Rev. Steve Joyce. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday evening from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at the home.
He was a native of Randolph County, born to the late Jeff and Nannie Rush on March 12, 1931. Following high school he served his country proudly as a member of the U.S. Air Force in the Korean War. He retired from Guilford County in the tax department following many years of dedicated service. He was an avid Carolina fan, bowler, and golfer and a former member of the “Cactus Squares” Western Square Dance Club in Burlington. He will also be remembered as a kind and loving neighbor.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Doris Parrish, Allene Burgess, Wilma Kinley, and Frances Wall; and brothers, Clarence Rush and Dr. Dallas Rush.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 47 years, Loberta McNeill Rush of the home; son, Randy Rush and wife, Heather of Liberty; grandson, Ryan Rush of Greensboro; granddaughter, Morgan Rush of Liberty; sisters, Leona Wood of Trinity and Lalah Bowman and husband, Allen of Sophia; brother, Lester Rush and wife, Beulah of Candor; mother-in-law, Lucille McNeill of Carillon Assisted Living in Asheboro; sister-in-law, Frances McNeill Blanton of Brooksville, FL; brother-in-law, Ray McNeill and wife, Joanne of Haines City, FL and a host of beloved nieces, nephews and friends.
The family expresses gratitude to the staff of the Fourth Floor East/West Nursing Station at Wesley Long Hospital for the love and care shown to them.
