Howard was devoted to family. Left to cherish his memory are his three children: Ronald Cheek (Jan) of Liberty, Christina Jobe (Tommy) of Myrtle Beach, SC; Mary Margaret Mills of Yardley, PA; three grandchildren: Jason Cheek (Carrie) of Browns Summit, Kristy Jobe of Macclesfield, Lauren Brewer (Daniel) of Liberty; one step-grandchild: Patrice Jobe Bagwell (Ben) of Clayton; seven great-grandchildren: Sarah (Jordan), Rebekah, Rachel, Hannah, and Elizabeth Cheek; and Camden and Hudson Brewer; three step-great-grandchildren: Reagan, Jillian, and Camryn Bagwell., sisters-in-law Ruth Curtis Butler of Burlington and Grace Daniels Cheek of Liberty. Howard was also loved his many nieces and nephews; and his dear companion at Universal Healthcare, Alice Sewell.

The family would like to thank the staff of Universal Health Care for their years of quality compassionate care. Howard truly enjoyed spending the last years of his life there.

Howard Cheek loved to come to the service held once a month at Universal
Health Care where I sang gospel songs for residents. I would personally go by his room to tell him I would be singing. He told me his story about the Battle of the Bulge three years ago. My piano player and other singers knew to sing patriotic songs for him. He loved "God bless America". He was touched when we recognized his service to the U.S.A. I loved Howard Cheek. I will miss his sweet smile. I will donate money to Christian United Outreach Center in memory of Howard Cheek. May his family members be blessed. On this Memorial Day, I am proud to say that it was a privilege to have known this fine soldier.

Our Sweet dear Howard. Our thoughts and prayers for comfort, peace and guidance to the family during this difficult time. Bobby had helped Howard at his lawn mower shop many years ago when we first started dating. He and Margaret were always a joy to talk to and cut up with when I would drop by. They both attended our wedding back in 1990.

What a wonderful person he was to me always smiling when I would enter his room. I am so glad I tapped on his window from the outside to say hello when the coronavirus first began. I volunteer there, worked in the flower beds at universal. He will surely be missed. Penny

I'm Sam and Ava Wilson's daughter. We lived just down the road, on the other side of the creek, from Margaret and Howard. I vividly remember his kind smile and nature. May God bless his family.

I always enjoyed delivering and taking parts orders at Howard's small engine shop. My dad bought several simplicity mowers from him and always valued his friendship, as did I. He always had a smile and took time to engage in conversation with me when I was young. Condolences to Ronnie, Jan, and all the family of such a pleasant man.
