Jackie Sue,  I just heard about Alex passing. I have the most wonderful memories of you guys coming over  when I was little. Always smiling          and happy. My heart hurts for you and your girls. Please know that my whole family has you in their thoughts and prayers.

Even though Richard delivers the newspaper we just saw Alex's obituary in the greensboro paper. We are at a loss, so sorry and so heavy hearted to hear of Alex's passing. You gave Alex such a beautiful service. It was truly a tribute to what a wonderful person he was to all. Everyone that got to meet him was truly blessed, that was so evident at his service. Take his legacy, lessons & memories to move forward and enjoy life as he did. That's some big shoes to fill:):) Just remember he is always with you and you will see that everyday. That is the blessing we have while we are still here on earth, until we can join our loved ones in heaven.

I hope you all take solace in the fact that Alex is with David and his sister who he barely got to know. they are rejoicing in their reunion and prepare a place for the rest of us. He will be missed but he will forever be able to watch over you all.

I'll always remember Alex at Big Creek.  Campsite 12!  One of the best places in the world.  I know it was one of his favorites.

My heart, thoughts and prayers go out to all of the family. Alex was a good and loving man who devoted to his family. One of my earliest memories of Alex is watching him play football in Maw Eury's yard while we were waiting for Thanksgiving dinner to be ready.  He was a teenager and had long, wavy dark hair.  I think I was about six or seven years old, and completely intimidated!  Growing up I always thought of Alex and Jackie as the "picture perfect" couple--always smiling, always beautiful. The whole family is in my heart and thoughts right now.

Alex was one of my favorite cousins, remember the weekends at grandma's house growing up. Although Alex grew up partially in Brazil they came back to N.C. every several years and would be talking Portuguese when they 1st got back. The holidays and reunions at grandma's house we usually as cousins do got into some kind of mischief. Alex was unique in his awesome spirit. Such a terrible loss. My heart goes out to his wife Jackie, daughters and grandson, and his immediate family and friends.
