James David Luther

David was an independent contractor with Nationwide Insurance and owner of Dave Luther Insurance. He attended UNC-G where he played on the men’s basketball team. Later he transferred to Campbell University to complete his BS in business administration, where he met his wife Anna. He was a member of Shiloh UMC Men and was involved in various activities involving his wife, sons, and granddaughters, including Boy Scout Troop 502, Eastern Randolph High School band, athletics, and cheerleading. Dave became involved in coaching youth sports through the years, including a very special Orange Crush basketball team for the past few months. Daddy Papa loves all his girls.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at 11:00 am, at Shiloh United Methodist Church, Liberty, officiated by Pastor Danielle Hammett. Burial will follow at Shiloh UMC Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 26, 2016 from 6:00 pm till 8:00 pm at Loflin Funeral Home, Liberty.

David was preceded in death by his parents James Alvin and Dorothy Ann Luther.

David is survived by his wife of 44 years, Anna Luther; sons, Michael Luther (Cathy) of Climax , Kevin Luther of Liberty; granddaughters, Ashley Luther, Dorothy Luther, Rori Luther; sister Deidra Hartman (Bill) of Melbourne, Fl.
