John "Mark" Smith

Mark was a native of Greensboro and graduated from Ragsdale High School. He retired from Interstate Distributors, Dunn, NC as a building supply regional salesman after 15 years of service; prior to that, he worked with Diamond Hill Plywood out of Greensboro. His family will always remember his "prankster" ways and the laughter they all shared. He enjoyed fishing, watching movies and listening to classic rock music.

He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Luther Smith; and his sister, Kelly Smith.

Surviving is his wife of 44 years, Linda Wright Smith; mother, Anne Lewis Smith; step-mother, Nancy Smith; daughter, Emily Bennett; sons, Jacob Smith and Zachary Smith; sister, Kim Willard; brother, David Smith; and grandchildren, Christian Bennett, Caitlin Bennett and Cayla Bennett.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Cane Creek Friends Meeting Cemetery, 719 W. Greensboro Chapel Hill Road, Snow Camp, NC.
