Laura Euliss Wicker McBane

She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She was a lifelong member of Pleasant Hill Christian Church and was a simple lady who loved the Lord; everyday her prayers included peace for the sick, the bereaved and the lonely. Her approach was gentle and her smile was welcoming and comforting. She loved her community and everyone in it.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 9 at 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Christian Church with Rev. Howard Spray officiating; burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Loflin Funeral Home, 212 West Swannanoa Avenue, Liberty and other times at the home of her son.

Laura was the daughter of the late Charlie and Norvella Smith Euliss and was also preceded in death by her husbands, Henry Floyd Wicker and Jesse Willard McBane and three brothers, Johnny, Warren and Max Euliss.

Surviving is her son, Floyd Wicker and his wife, Francine of Snow Camp; granddaughters, Reneé Addertion and Carla Miller of Snow Camp; great-grandson, Chandler Addertion of Cullowhee, NC; great-granddaughters, Cameron Addertion and Morgan Miller of Snow Camp and sister, Sarah Stout of Snow Camp.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Hill Christian Church, Cemetery Fund, 1712 Pleasant Hill-Liberty Road, Liberty, NC 27298 or to Hospice of Alamance-Caswell, 918 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
