Lester Leon Cox

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 26, 2025 at Rocky River Friends Meeting, 1795 Staley Snow Camp Rd, Siler City, with burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00-12:45 p.m. prior to the service.

Leon was the son of late Lester Eli Cox and Glysta Avis Cole Cox and was also preceded in death by his brother, Larry Cox.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, sons, Jeffrey Cox (Brandy) and Eric Cox (Melissa); grandchildren, Landon Cox, Eli Cox and Colton Cox; sister-in-law, Peggy Cox; nephews, Randy Cox (Carrie) and Roger Cox (Lisa).

Leon was a faithful employee of Liberty Oil Company for 40 years. He was an active member of Rocky River Friends Meeting where he served as a committee member and choir member for many years. Leon also served his community as a member of the Liberty Ruritan Club for over 40 years. Above his commitment to the Liberty community, Leon was a devoted father, grandfather and man of God. He was always attentive to his children and grandchildren; from ballgames to birthdays, he was always there. They will miss him dearly.
