A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 29, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Groover Funeral Home, 1400 36th Avenue East, Ellenton, FL 34222.
Lester was the son of the late Lester Roosevelt Hacker and Rosamond Wynder Hacker and was also preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Hampton Hacker; sister, Dorothy Hacker Barndt; and brothers, Kenneth Hacker and Donald Hacker.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory three sons, Bruce Edwin Hacker (Lynn), Gary Reed Hacker and Ronald Keith Hacker; three grandchildren, Dawn Hacker Wertman (James), Caitlin Hacker and Reed Hacker; and one great-grandchild, Mackenzie Lynn Wertman.
Lester was born and raised in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania where he lived, worked and raised his children for 60 years with the love of his life, Audrey. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a machinist and supervisor for Uniform Tube where he eventually retired. He also served as fire chief at the local fire department for two terms. After retirement, Lester and Audrey moved to Ellenton, Florida to enjoy retirement. Lester was a kind and loving husband, father and grandfather.
