Mr. Ellis was born in Pineville, WV and he worked at Coggins Welborn in High Point, NC as a machinist until he retired.
He was the son of the late Luther Other Ellis and Goldie Barber; and was also preceded in death by his son, Lewis Curtis Ellis, Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Jean Clarice Bullard Ellis of Northpoint Retirement Center, Randleman, NC; brother, Howard Edwin Byrd of High Point, NC; and grandchildren, Jason, Sarah, Tiffany, and Jessica of Reidsville, NC.
