Lisa Ann Raines Hayden

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Smithwood Christian Church, 6809 Kimesville Road, Liberty, NC.

She found joy in life’s simple pleasures—flower gardening, shooting pool, and singing her heart out at karaoke. She had a special talent for jewelry making and a deep love for all of her animals, especially her beloved dog, Ruger.

One of her greatest passions was helping others. She devoted countless hours to genealogy work, assisting families in discovering their roots and reconnecting with loved ones. Her generosity and dedication brought comfort and joy to many.

Her faith was a guiding force throughout her life, as she held a strong and unwavering belief in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a member of Smithwood Christian Church in Liberty.

Together, Jimmy and Lisa spent over 20 years as poultry farmers, building a life rooted in hard work and dedication. She also gave many years of service to Modern Woodmen before retiring.

Above all, Lisa cherished her family. They were the center of her world, and her love for them was constant and enduring.

She was preceded in death by her adopted parents, the late Reid "Tot" and Goldie Terry Raines, and second adopted mother, Marion Hedgepeth Cowan; father, Robert Barton; and step-father, Chuck Kovanda.

Lisa is survived by her husband of 44 years, Jimmy Hayden; mother, Kathy Kovanda; step-mother, BJ Barton; daughters, Amber Hayden Ward (Gregg); Nina Hayden Shephard (Seth); bonus-daughters, Morgan Tucker (Austin), and Nova Massey; son, Christopher Reid Hayden (Diane) and bonus-sons, Lucas Resende and Corbin Britt; grandchildren, Housten Hayden (Jaycie), Mia Smith (Chase), Layla Barnes (Trey), Eva Ward, Hayden Ward, Harper Shephard, Sawyer Shephard, and Lawson Shephard; great-grandchildren, Hudson Hayden and Easton Hayden; sisters, Dante Veale, Mayme Hopple, and Courtney Simmons; her beloved brother, Robert Barton, Jr.; her dear friend, Norma Jean Locklear; and numerous nieces and nephews.
