He sold beauty supplies for 35 years, was an avid golfer and a long time veteran.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 13 at 2 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church. Mr. Smith will lie in repose one hour prior to the service in the church.
He was the son of the late Lon Talton, Sr. and Bessie Zimmerman Smith and was also preceded in death by one son, Steven Michael Smith; two sisters, Elberta Lemmond and Ruby Loflin, and two brothers Elbridge Smith and Winfred Smith.
Surviving is his wife, Irene Grantham Smith of the home; one daughter, Kathy Ellen Smith of Liberty; one son, Eddy Burke Smith of Liberty; two grandchildren, Vallerie Williams and Pam Smith; two great-grandchildren, Caleb and Jenna Williams.
